We may study it to fix and improve Playful. We do not use it to train or fine-tune AI models.

Playful helps adults make and share apps with AI. This page explains the main rules and how we handle data. We kept it short and simple.

This page is only a guide. It does not replace our full legal documents. If this guide and a full document do not match, the full document wins.
First, know these two kinds of data
We treat the things used to build an app in a different way from the things people save inside the app.
Things saved inside an app
This includes anything a person types, sends, or saves in a finished app. We call this App Data.
We use it only to run, protect, and support the app. We do not use it to improve Playful or train AI models.
The main rules
These are the big ideas in our Terms of Use.
Builders must be adults.
You must be 18 or older to make a Playful account, buy credits, or build an app.
You keep your work.
You keep the rights you already have in your prompts and apps. We give you any rights we get in the AI results made for you. AI results may not be new, unique, or protected by copyright.
AI can be wrong.
It can make mistakes, write unsafe code, or give a bad answer. Check and test its work before you use or share it. Do not treat it as expert advice.
Your prompts go to AI companies.
We use AI services from companies such as DeepSeek, Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI. They help make the app and its content. Some of them, including DeepSeek, may use your prompts to train their own AI.
Your app is your job to manage.
You choose what your app collects. You must give people any privacy notice they need. You must also get any consent the law calls for.
Apps are for personal use.
You may share an app with friends, family, or other people. You may not sell it, run ads in it, charge for it, or use it as a service for a business or client.
Keep some data out.
Do not store card or bank numbers, government ID numbers, biometric IDs, other people's passwords, or exact location data used to track a person.
Do not hurt people.
No scams, threats, hate, sexual harm, malware, spam, stolen work, or illegal acts. We may remove an app or close an account that breaks the rules.
Plans renew until you cancel.
AI work uses credits even when you do not like the result. Refunds are given only when the law calls for one.
Most disputes go to one-on-one arbitration.
Washington law applies. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing us within 30 days after you accept the Terms.
How we handle your data
Our Privacy Policy tells you what we collect, why we need it, and what choices you have.
What we collect
We collect account details, builder work, App Data, support messages, and basic device and use data. Our payment company handles full card numbers.
Why we use it
We use data to run Playful, make and host apps, take payment, stop abuse, give support, follow the law, and improve the builder tools.
Who may get it
We share data with companies that help us run Playful. This may include AI, hosting, payment, email, and support companies. We may also share data when the law or safety calls for it.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal data. We do not use it for ads that follow you. We do not use Platform Content or App Data to train or fine-tune AI models.
If you use an app made by someone else:
The app's creator picks what it collects. Ask that person first if you want to see or delete your data. You can also ask Playful for help.
We keep data only as long as we need it.
Most deleted account and app data leaves our main systems within 30 days and backups within 90 days. Some records may stay longer when the law calls for it.
You have choices.
You may ask to see, fix, export, or delete your personal data. Some places give you more rights.
We use basic cookies and tools.
They help you sign in, keep Playful working, and show us how the service is used. We do not use ad cookies.
Data may be stored in the United States and other countries.
If you live elsewhere, your data may be sent to the United States. Prompts sent to AI companies may also go to other countries, including China, where DeepSeek is based.
What about kids and teens?
Playful's builder tools are for adults. People of many ages may still find and use an app that a builder shares.
Apps for your own kids
Builders may not make apps aimed at children under 13, with one exception: a parent or legal guardian may make a private app for their own child. Keep it within your household, collect only what the app needs, and you can delete your child's data at any time.
AI inside a shared app
An app may not aim Playful's AI tools at anyone under 18. It may not knowingly let them use those tools unless Playful first approves added safety steps in writing. This includes apps you make for your own children.
Are you a parent or guardian?
If you think a child gave personal data to Playful, email us. Tell us which app was used so we can look into it.
